Growler

Growler (Grystes salmonoides), a food-fish of the Perch family from the rivers of the United States, It is about two feet long, dark olive above and greyish-white beneath, Its name refers to the noise it makes when taken out of the water. For the same reason sea-perches of the American genus Hcemulon are also called Growlers.
