Globigerinidse

Globigerinidse, a family of Foraminifera (q.v.) of which Globigerina is the type genus. This is of interest as it is one of the leading constituents in the deep-sea deposits known as "Globigerina ooze," and is one of the commonest fossils in the Chalk.
