Garcilaso
Garcilaso (1540-1616), a Spanish historian, was born at Cuzco, his father being a Spanish soldier and his mother a princess of the Incas, whence he is sometimes ceilled "Inca." He went to Spain in early manhood, and lived at Cordova His work La Florida del Inca (1605), giving an account of Ferdinand de Soto's conquest, and his Royal Commentaries on Peru, were translated into English in 1688 and in 1869.
