Furlong
Furlong (A.S. furlong, the length of a furh or furrow), a measure of length, 220 yards or one-eighth of a mile. The furlong was originally a square measure also; according to Kemble, 200 yards in length and 5 yards in breadth in Saxon times, answering to the quarentena, rood, or "small acre."
