Feuilleton

Feuilleton, the part of a political journal devoted to general literature, usually divided from the newspaper proper by a horizontal line. It originated in France, being first adopted by the Journal des Bebats at the beginning of this century. It often consists of criticisms on art or literature, and many famous French novels made their first appearance in this form.
