Exmouth
Exmouth, a town of Devon, on the left bank of the Exe estuary, 10 miles S.E. of Exeter, situated in a gap of the cliff. It is now a fashionable seaside resort, and has a good sandy beach well sieited for bathing. In the time of Edward III. it was a flourishing port. The industries are fishing and lace-making.
