Euryalida

Euryalida, the group of Ophiuroidea (q.v.) which includes those with many and twining arms, such as the Medusa Head (Astrophyton). The earliest known members of the class are the Ettcladia, from the Silurian rocks of Dudley, and the Onychaster, from the Carboniferous of Illinois.
