Elizabeth NJ

Elizabeth, NJ, an American city, capital of Union county in the state of New Jersey, 14 miles S.W. of New York, with which city it has railway and steam communication. It is in a fertile district, and is well-built, and has many churches, schools, a court house, city hall, and other public buildings. There are foundries and oilcloth factories, and a factory of Singer's sewing machines.
