Elaterite
Elaterite, clastic bitumen or mineral caoutchouc (CH.,), sometimes containing oxygen, is a soft, flexible substance, with resinous lustre, strongly bituminous odour, blackish, yellowish-brown, or reddish colour, and specific gravity of -8 to 1-2. It occurs at Castleton, Derbyshire; near Edinburgh; Montrelais, near Nantes; Neufcheetel, Switzerland; Zante; Woodbury, Connecticut; and elsewhere.
