Edwards Jonathan
Edwards, Jonathan (1703-1758), an American theologian and metaphysician, born at East Windsor in Connecticut. He was educated at Yale College. and was for a time a professor there. In 1727 he became minister at Northampton, where he officiated for twenty-three years, and then became a missionary to the Indians for six years. In 1757 he became President of Princeton College, New Jersey. His chief works are Freedom of the Will and Original Sin.
