Damodar
Damodar, or Dammoodah, a river of India, whose valleys abound in iron and coal, rises in the district of Lohardaga, presidency of Bengal, and, after a southerly course of 350 miles, empties itself into the Hooghly. It has numerous tributaries, and is navigable for a considerable distance for large vessels.
