Curara

Curara (Curari, Urari, Wourara, Wourali) is a very poisonous substance, which is used by certain tribes of South American Indians for the purpose of tipping their arrows, etc. It is obtained from a mixture of plants, one of which is always some variety of Strycknos. It comes to Europe as a brown nearly solid extract with a very bitter taste.
