Culm. L In Botany culm is a term sometimes used for the slender stems of grasses which mostly have solid nodes and elongated hollow internodes, reaching in the bamboos considerable size. 2. In Geology culm is applied to an inferior slaty or stony variety of coal, worked in Pembrokeshire and North Devon.
