Crotophaga

Crotophaga, a genus of American cuckoos, with three species, ranging from Brazil to the Antilles and Pennsylvania. They are social in habit, and one nest is said to serve many pairs. They feed on the larvae of insects that infest cattle. The best known species is C. ani, the Savannah Blackbird (q.v.).
