Cort
Cort, Cornelius (1536-1578), a Dutch engraver, born at Hoorn. He studied at Antwerp under Jerom Cockx. In 1565 he went to Venice, where he engraved copper plates for Titian. He engraved St. Jerome in the Desert, Diana and Actaeon, Diana and Calisto. He returned to the Netherlands, and went again to Venice, to Bologna, and to Rome, engraving continually.
