Chillon
Chillon, a castle of Switzerland, situated at the eastern extremity of the Lake of Geneva on an isolated rock. Surrounded by deep water, it is reached from the mainland by a bridge. It is now used as an arsenal. It is interesting as being the scene of Byron's poem, The Prisoner of Chillon; the prisoner was Bonivard, who from 1530 to 1536 was immured here.
