Chelicerae
Chelicerae are the three-jointed pincer-like appendages found in Arachnida. They are of interest from their position, as they are the only appendages in front of the mouth; they are, however, only secondarily praeoral, and are homologous with the first pair of antennae of those Crustacea that have two pairs of praeoral appendages.
