Chaudor (Chudor), a large Turkoman nation, whose territory extends from the Caspian east to the Aral Sea and the Lower Oxus; chief taife (branches): - Abdal, Tgdyr, Esserli, Karachaudor, Bozanji, Burmijuk, and Sheikh, altogether 12,000 tents or 60,000 souls, all now subject to Russian rule.
