Chainpump

Chain-pump, a machine for raising water. It consists of two vertical barrels ranged side by side, square in section, containing an endless chain passing up one and down the other. At suitable intervals along the chain pistons are attached, which, by the ordinary pump principle, are arranged to lift water up one barrel. The machine is now an antiquity.
