Cardinal Virtues

Cardinal Virtues, a collection of qualities to which this name has been given by Catholic theologians. Of these four were acknowledged as important virtues by pagan moralists. They are Justice, Prudence, Temperance, Fortitude, which the Church has adopted under the name of the Moral virtues, adding thereto Faith, Hope, and Charity, which it calls Theological virtues.
