Caird Edward
Caird, Edward, was born in 1835. Educated at Glasgow, he went to Balliol as an exhibitioner, and in 1864 was elected fellow and appointed tutor at Merton. In 1866 he was appointed professor of moral philosophy at Glasgow University, and in 1893 Master of Balliol. He has published A Critical Account of the Philosophy of Kant, a little book upon Hegel, and an examination of The Social Philosophy and Religion of Comte.
