Burnt Sienna

Burnt Sienna, a pigment obtained by heating "terra da Sienna," an earthy substance found in Tuscany, which contains a considerable amount of oxide of iron, to which the pigment owes its colour. It gives a warm reddish brown, and being permanent, is largely used for oils and watercolours.
