Budaun
Budaun, a district of British India in the Rohilcund division, and in the jurisdiction of the North-West Provinces, having an area of about 2,000 sq. miles, and forming a level tract of country, watered by the Ganges and some of its tributaries. The district was ceded to the English by the Nawab of Oude in 1801, and in 1837 it took the rebel side in the Indian Mutiny.
