Bruchsal
Bruchsal, a town of the Grand Duchy of Baden, is situated on the Salzbach, and is 14 miles from Carlsruhe. From the eleventh to the beginning of the present century it was the seat of the Bishop of Spires. It has an old castle of the twelfth century, now a prison, and does a considerable trade in cigars and wine. There is also a fine palace belonging to the Grand Duke of Baden.
