Brixham
Brixham, a port and market-town at the S. extremity of Tor Bay, Devonshire, 23 miles from Exeter. Its inhabitants are principally engaged in fishing, the soles and turbots caught off that coast being highly esteemed. Marble and ironstone are also exported. William III. landed here in 1688, and a monument commemorates the event. The parish church, dedicated to the Virgin, is a good example of the Perpendicular style.
