Brindaban
Brindaban, or Bindraban, an ancient town on the river Jumma, in the North-West Provinces of British India, 6 miles N. of Muttra. It possesses several temples, to which thousands of Hindus make annual pilgrimages, and, as at Benares, the river banks are lined by ghats, or ranges of steps. There are also three tanks held in high veneration, and several interesting buildings.
