Briareus

Briareus, in Greek mythology, a son of Ouranos and Gala who had 100 hands and 50 heads. He was thrown into the sea by Poseidon, and then imprisoned beneath AEtna. Zeus took him from this situation for the sake of his aid against the Titans, and protected him from that time forward. The people of Chalcis honoured him under the name of AEgaeon.
