Brama

Brama, a genus of acanthopterygian fishes allied to the Dolphins. There is but one species, Brama raii (Ray's bream), from 12 in. to 2 ft. long, deep blue above, silvery below. The body is much compressed, pectorals long and narrow, ventrals small, tail iarge and forked. It ranges from the South Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and sometimes to the British coasts.
