Bower
Bower, Walter, called also Bowmaker (1385-1449), Scottish historian. Little is known of his life, except that he was Abbot of St. Columba's, Inchcolm, in the Firth of Forth. He continued the history of Scotland - carried by Fordun down to the death of David (1153) - as far as the death of James I. (1437). As he was speaking of events contemporary or almost so, his work is entitled to credit. Like Fordun, he wrote in Latin, and the Scotichronicon has not been translated.
