Bossut
Bossut, Charles, mathematician, was born in 1730 near Lyons, and appointed professor at Mezieres in 1752. After the revolution he taught in the polytechnic schools, Paris. His chief work was Essai sur l'Histoire Generale des Mathematiques. He also edited Pascal's works. He died in 1814, at Paris.
