Bolas
Bolas (Spanish bulls), a weapon consisting of two (or sometimes three) balls of stone or metal connected by thongs or ropes, which are thrown at animals in such a way as to entangle their feet and bring them down. It seems to be a native Patagonian weapon, and is also used by the Gauchos of the South American Pampas.
