Bicol

Bicol, a large nation in Luzon, Philippine Islands, occupying most of the south-eastern peninsula, besides the neighbouring islands, Catanduanes and Burias; total population 800,000; speech intermediate between the Tagal of Manilla and the Bisayan of the smaller islands between Luzon and Mindanao, spoken in its purest form in the province of South Camarines. The Bicols are semi-civilised agriculturists, mostly nominal Roman Catholics.
