Biarritz
Biarritz, a French bathing place in the department of Basses-Pyrenees on the Bay of Biscay. Its renown as a watering-place dates from the occasional residence there of Napoleon III. and the Empress Eugenie during the years 1855-70. It has some curious grottoes.
