Bernier
Bernier, Francois, French traveller, was born at Angers, France. After studying medicine at Montpellier university, he visited Palestine, Egypt, and India, residing at the court of Aurungzebe as his physician for twelve years. In 1670, on his return to France, he published a popular account of his travels, which have often been republished and translated into different languages. He visited England in 1685 and died in Paris in 1688.
