Bellini Gentile

Bellini, Gentile, was born in 1428, and was distinguished as a portrait-painter. After a lucrative visit to Constantinople at the invitation of Mohammed II., who employed him on various historical works, he died at Venice in 1507. His chief work is The Preaching of St. Mark.
