Bell George Joseph
Bell, George Joseph, brother of Sir Charles, was born in 1770 in Edinburgh. He became distinguished in law, and in 1822 was appointed professor of Scots Law in Edinburgh University. In 1832 he became one of the clerks of the Court of Session, and in 1833 chairman of the Royal Commission on Law. He wrote several legal books, the chief being Principles of the Law of Scotland, 1829. He died in 1813.
