Bebel
Bebel, Heinrich, born in Suabia about 1472, studied at the universities of Cracow and Basle, and in 1497 was appointed professor of literature at Tubingen. He was one of the best Latin scholars of the day, and his Opuscula show a great knowledge of the classics, but his poetical efforts lapsed into gross buffoonery. He died about 1516.
