Basommatophora
Basommatophora, the sub-order of land and freshwater univalve shells (Gastropoda) in which the eyes are situated at the base of the tentacles (Stylommatophora); it includes the families Auriculidae and Limnuaeidae with Limnaeus and Planorbis, the commonest of the English pond-snails.
