Balaghat
Balaghat, or Balaghaut (Hind, above the ghats or hills), a district in the Central Provinces of British India, occupying a lofty and mountainous area of 3,146 square miles. Until 1866 the country was covered with jungles. Immigrants have now brought large tracts under cultivation, and prosperity is gradually advancing.
