Atriumhall

Atrium hall, the hall or most important room in a Roman house in ancient times. It was lighted by means of a large opening in the middle of the ceiling called the compluvium, beneath which, in the centre of the floor, was the impluvium, designed to catch the rain which fell through the compluvium.
