Arionmusician

Arion - musician, a legendary musician of Greece, supposed to have been born at Methymna in Lesbos some time in the seventh century B.C. He invented the dithyrambic metre. On his voyage from Italy the crew of the vessel conspired to rob and kill him, but granted him leave to play once more before he died. At the end of his performance he jumped overboard, and was picked up and carried to Taenarus by an admiring dolphin. The lute and the dolphin were placed among the constellations.
