Argonauta
Argonauta, the paper Nautilus, the only living two-gilled Cephalopod (q.v.) provided with an external shell; this is present only in the female, and is secreted by two of the arms. It lives in the Chinese seas, and is extinct in the Mediterranean. It was once fabled to use its arms as sails. It is the type of the Argonautidae.
