Alexandria Virginia

Alexandria, Virginia, the name of a county and its capital in Virginia, U.S.A. The town is on the west bank of the Potomac, seven miles south of Washington. It has a good harbour, accessible to vessels of the largest size, and does a large trade in corn, flour, and tobacco. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal begins here.
