Ahwas

Ahwas, a town in Persia on the river Karun, occupying the site of the ancient Aginis, of which many ruins still exist, amongst them being the bund, or stone dyke that dammed the river, and supplied the now desolate country with water. The population is reduced to a few hundred Arabs.
