Accadians

Accadians, a pre-Semitic cultured people of the lower Euphrates, whose empire was overthrown by the Assyrians between 1700 and 2000 B.C. Their language was agglutinative, and supposed to belong to the Ural-Altaic family; it is preserved in the oldest cuneiform writings.
