Abelites

Abelites or Abelians, the names given to a religious sect mentioned by St. Augustine: the Abelites held the principle of compulsory marriage with compulsory abstinence from its consummation, alleging that Abel lived with his wife in this manner. The sect was never numerous and was short-lived.
