Warwick, Richard Neville, Earl of. "The Kingmaker." Born about 1428. Created earl in 1449, and joined the Yorkists, getting Edward IV crowned by his influence, and defeating his enemies at Towton (1461). Quarreled with Edward, and restored Henry VI in 1470, but was defeated and slain (1471), at Barnet next year.
