Sixtus IV. Born in 1414. Elected pope in 1471. Equipped a fleet against the Turks, supported the Pazzi against the Medici, and Venice against Ferrara, but ex-communicated the former for not agreeing to a peace. He built the Sistine Chapel. Died 1484.
