D.; Cornell College, IA, D. C. L. Methodist Episcopal clergyman in Bath, Portland, Boston, and New York. Chancellor Syracuse University, 1893-1922. Elected bishop Methodist Episcopal Church, 1904, but declined. Was a writer, speaker, and publicist. Died 1923.
