Disraeli, Benjamin. An English statesman and author. Disraeli was born in 1804, of Jewish decent. For years Disraeli was the leader of the Conservative Party in the Commons, holding the office of prime minister in 1868-70 and 1874-80. In 1876 Disraeli was created earl of Beaconsfield. Died 1881.
